Embed media allows you to embed resources (videos, images, tweets, etc.) hosted by other platforms in your content.

Add media to your content

1. Copy embed code from the source you want to embed
2. Click Embed Media icon in the editor
3. Paste the embed code
4. Click Insert

Supported media

A lot of media can be embedded in your article from major platforms like:

It’s very versatile. Will run some community webinars next year to showcase its power. I’ll make sure to share around here :innocent:

How is this embedding done?  https://community.typeform.com/suggestions-feedback-34/join-typeform-s-feature-testing-community-150

We would like to do same, we are using different third party survey tool and we want to embed it to the community. It can be embedded with iframe but when I add Code and Language is HTML and I add the iframe code there the survey isn´t displayed. It just displays the iframe code in the message editor. Same thing when I send the post, code can be still seen.

    What I am doing wrong?

Hmm so cookies could play a role here, for embedding media (usually) the highest cookie level (level 3) needs to be selected in order for this to work. I don’t know how it is with Loom, but if it is caused by cookie settings, you would only see the url and not the embed itself. Is that what you are seeing?

I sometimes see that users try it with an embed code instead of the url. We usually embed directly via the url and not an embed code…

Let me know if this helped, otherwise I would recommend to contact our support team and provide them with an example if possible.

Typeform embedded a Typeform survey with the steps explained above. Which third-party tool survey did you try to embed within the topic, is it listed in the supported media list above?

Those surveys are not supported and can’t be embedded inside topics. You can embed it in a HTML widget on the homepage or within the sidebar.

We have to be able to embed surveys to the topics, homepage/sidebar isn´t option for us. I think if Typeform is supported there should be option to do this with other tools as well.

I tried to embed YT video, just like URL above:

Here that URL adds embedded video and in our community it adds only link to the video?

    Hi Ryanne,

Here are some suggestions for workarounds:

    • Upload the video to a supported platform (loom, wistia, youtube) and embed it in a post
    • Add the .mov into a Zip file (.zip) and attach the .zip to a post

    Hi Terore,

have you accepted the full set of cookies on your community? If you haven’t accepted the full set of cookies we’re not allowed to show embedded media and we’ll only show a URL. I can see the video embedded in the post above :)

Good tip, for some reason I had blocked cookies and after I enabled then automatic embedding started to work. Thanks a lot.

Btw, when cookies were blocked, when I tried “Embed media” feature I got error message “Media is not supported” or “URL is not supported” (etc, I dont remember exactly). This error message is confusing, you have right media and everything is ok but cookies are disabled. Is there anything you can do for this, the give error message what gives better info for the user?
